We all know that we are moving without end. Everything comes and goes in waves. Nothing lasts. What remain are feelings and memories when touching the waves in each moment. Life is like the ocean, unpredictable but simply beautiful.

“The Day After Every Day”
Since creating the ceramic project “Every Day”, 30 vessels inspired by the beauty of 30 days sky last year, we haven’t noticed that the day which sky full of pm2.5 would come so soon. We started to collaborate the idea with ‘Splendor Solis Collective’ to find what we can do expressing it in our way. The result is to merge the new technique of firing with colored clay ( the same technique as “Every Day” collection ) to represent the circumstance today, reflect the polluted sky into the vessels we always do all along.

Chiang Mai Design Week 2018

The collection of 30 bowls specially made for “Chiang Mai Design Week 2018”. Each bowl corresponds to the colours of the sky each day during mid October to mid November.
Papitcha is one of the youngest talents in Chiang Mai Design Week 2018. At the age of 23, she freshly graduated from the Faculty of Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University this year.
The designer/craftswoman is also one of the three recipients of the“Outstanding Award” at the National Ceramics Exhibition the year of her graduation.
Papitcha is passionate about ceramics, in particular the Nerikomi technique which consists of creating patterns with coloured clay. She has created the collection of 30 bowls specially for the Festival. Each bowl corresponds to the colours of the sky each day during mid October to mid November. One of her challenges is related to the stoneware’s natural grey colour, which makes it impossible to see the colours before baking.
Won the silver prize of “The National Ceramic Competition 2018.”

“There is a sunrise and a sunset every single day. One of the best parts about them is that they’re never quite the same. The skies incredibly hold natural beauty but they also hold different meanings. They make time seem to stand still and peaceful.

The potteries are made of many colored clays from Nerikomi technique, showing and expressing the beauty of the atmospheres of the sky and the colors of sunlight. Using Stoneware colored clay and firing at 1220 °C in oxidation.”

“ INRELATION 3 : Ceramic Art Exhibition “ is exhibited by student interns from ceramic studios in Chiangmai, InClay Studio Pottery , Sen-Moo Studio, and Chatchaiwat Pottery Studio. We embark on our journey to search for experience and knowledge in pottery and ceramic art. In order to react with our emotion and feeling in that moment, we get in touch with the environment, terrain, culture, and climant in Chiangmai which inspire us to create such unique art works.

Surrounding of nature and the moisture dripping through calmly in Chiang Mai, Thailand inspired me with its beauty. The patterns were created from overlapping of colored clay.

Ceramic vase and reed diffuser are inspired from Thai traditional hanging flower arrangement, Jasmine and Crown stringing together like a net creating the pattern of hanging flower. These potteries were wheel- thrown and decorated the pattern with slip trailing technique.

Everything that happens in life cannot be fully controlled, but you can react to things that are out of control. Let things take their own natural course and accept the beauty in flaws. Just like making ceramic, the result cannot be certainly predicted as well.
The series of Unpredictable explores the nature and organic expression of clay. They are constructed using slabs. Then let the clay transform itself naturally. Forms and mixed coloured clays are symbolic of the factors that are incontrollable in our lives.
